Wow...Life is crazy!!!!

I absolutely LOVE the summers...warmth, not working, being with Owen, playing, eating lunch with friends, and just being FREE!!! There is nothing better than being home with Owen and watching him grow right before my eyes.

While we are home, I try to expose Owen to as much as possible no matter how messy it is. Owen really likes painting and I don't have a problem with that. Just put one of my tees on him and turn him loose. Here we were trying to paint the frame for Tony's fathers day present.

It never fails when I am trying to cook and unload the dishwasher Owen is right there at my feet trying to get into whatever he can. He literally pulls out every piece of silverware and places it on the floor and then puts it back in there.

Every other weekend we go to my parents house for dinner. I love seeing Owen with my parents and not to mention he gets to touch everything. This day was no different. My father takes Owen to the garage and lets him get in the boat and turn on the depth finder. Owen knows exactly what buttons to push. One of Owens favorite snacks are these little organic cheese bites. Well, he decided he was going to shake the box and they went EVERYWHERE!!! Doesn't the child know how expensive these things are? When I pick up Owen from daycare and never know what to expect. Well, on this day I got there and he had a Mohawk! It was so darn cute. I wished it would stay like that all day.

I also wanted to share the pictures from Owens year session. These are the ones I had to choose from for Tony's Fathers Day present.

I ended up going with the first one.

dANciNG mAchINeS...

During the day I keep the TV off while Owen is awake. I swore that I would not raise one of "those" kids who all they want to do it watch TV, play video games, & do NOTHING. So, while Owen is up I always have my iPOD playing with various artists playing. Typically I have either Billy Joel, Elton John, Beatles, Brandi Carlile, or my "FAVS" on.

Now while the music is on Owen either does this little dance, I sing (I know, scary thought, or hold him while I sing & we dance). He absolutely LOVES this!!! He has a huge smile on his face and a couple of giggles come out every now and then. I am not sure if he is laughing at the motion or my horrible singing. :D If someone ever saw us through the window they might think I need to be in a nut house. If Owen loves it, I do too! While dancing, one of my FAV songs by Billy Joel Came on...Only The Good Die Young...you MUST read the lyrics. SOOO true!!!

Come out Virginia, don't let me wait
You Catholic girls start much too late aw
But sooner or later it comes down to fate
I might as well be the one

well, They showed you a statue, told you to pray
They built you a temple and locked you away
Aw, but they never told you the price that you pay
For things that you might have done.....
Only the good die young
thats what i said only the good die young x2

You might have heard I run with a dangerous crowd
We ain't too pretty we ain't too proud
We might be laughing a bit too loud
aw But that never hurt no one

So come on Virginia show me a sign
Send up a signal I'll throw you the line
The stained-glass curtain you're hiding behind
Never lets in the sun
Darlin' only the good die young
woahi tell ya
only the good die young x2

You got a nice white dress and a party on your confirmation
You got a brand new soulmmmm, And a cross of gold
But Virginia they didn't give you quite enough information
You didn't count on me
When you were counting on your rosary (oh woah woah)

They say there's a heaven for those who will wait
Some say it's better but I say it ain't
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints
the Sinners are much more fun...
you know that only the good die young
oh woah baby
i tell ya
only the good die young, X2

You say your mother told you all that I could give you was a reputation
Aww She never cared for me
But did she ever say a prayer for me? oh woah woah

Come out come out come out virgina dont let me wait,
You catholic girls start much too late
Sooner or later it comes down to fate
I might as well be the one,
You know that only the good die young

I'm telling you baby
You know that only the good die young
Only the good die young
Only the gooooooooooooooood
Only the good die young
Only the gooooooooooooooood
Only the good die youngOoooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooo oooooooooo...

It so so darn HOT here I think I am going to die! Not to mention it is ONLY June 9th...what am I going to do for the rest of the summer? Stay in, sing, dance, and a lot of story time with Owen. Sounds like a plan to me. Today we did venture out early this morning to Walgreens, SunTrust, Target (the other love of my life), Kohls, & Chick-Fil-A (for some good ol' sweet tea). I promise once we got home I thought for a brief second I need to take another shower. It is TOOOOOOO hot here.

In the process of "going green" we have started recycling, eating all organics, & trying to be more conscious about our ONLY Earth. We keep certain items in certain containers ie. the plastic bottles go in the tub, paper in the box, & cardboard in the bag. When I am doing laundry, I have to take all the recycling off the machines and put it in the kitchen floor. Well, it never fails that Owen gets the bottle container, takes them out & puts them back in, & pushes it through out the house. Today was no different...he is trying to be kind to our Earth.

Girlie's, I am off to pick up the house, decide what I am fixin' for dinner, relax, read some on my book & take a nice LONG break while Owen is FINALLY sleeping.

he cant catch a break...

owen that is. he has caught some nasty stomach bug on saturday and spent the day sleeping/vommiting. fun huh? i felt so bad for the poor child, but there was nothing i could do. by sunday he was well on his way to getting better and today he seems 100%. we are going to venture out today to target 7 walgreens. from being on all those antibiotics he has developed a yeast infection and now we have to treat that. poor little guy. i miss my little man getting into everything...pulling out all the wipes are his favorite.

i have found a new love...

yes, thats right, ice cream, blue bell that is. it is so darn yummy, yet so expensive. owen loves ice crean and he gets a little at night if we have it. i know, i am really sad. no wonder i am as fat as i am. thats a no brainer, when you eat blue bell you gain weight. actually, i have lost weight, but i am sure if i wouldnt eat this i would lose even more.

today we are going to get out for a minute and come right back home. this week i have a lunch date on friday and then next week i am working for 2.5 weeks. we close on the house next week and i am sure we will spend the next 4 weekends getting our house ready. that should be loads of fun.
oh well, i am going to get a few things done before owen wakes up from him morning nap.
until later...

What a week

it seems like this week went by so slow. i dont know if it was because all that went on or because i had nothing to do. i have stayed in my jammies for the majority of the day...is that a problem? i dont think so. today i had my normal day, but owen wanted to throw his tantrum and geez thats enough to make anyone crazy.

dont have a lot planned for the weekend. i am sure we are going to start looking for paint, carpet, tile, appliances, and other things for the house. it will be here before we know it and we will finally be in out house. it really hasnt hit me yet, but i am sure it will once i have the payment. :) thats to my lovely friend lori & her mother who is going to help with the tile in the bathrooms. i was really sweating that one.

tonight i imagine we will do our normal dinner...lp & then watch a movie. well, i am not sure if i will make it through a movie, i never do. poor today, always watching a movie alone. well, when do you do all i do, anyone would be tire. if you are wondering...NO owen didnt sleep through the night after his tubes and he doesnt seem like thats ever going to happen. :( tony says its all my fault he still wakes up...sorry, i cant let my sweet baby cry. not to mention he is still really attached to the boob. i guess i am going to be "that" mother who nurses her older child. he does great through the day, but come night all his wants is the boob. typical guy huh?

next week i have a lot going on. packing, lunch, doctor, and other things. owen is going to the daycare on wed., thurs., and fri. for a few hours while i get what i need done. then for the next 2.5 weeks i am working...yes, you heard me, working. its hard to turn down money and it will be something i am interested in. i will be at mtsu for 10 days and the other three at a local high school. after that, its all about the new house.

we are going to be settled in the house by july 12. tony is on vacation that week and we will take that week to finish up any last minute things and get moved in. it is going to be a lot of hard work, but well worth it.

well, i am going to rest my eyes while owen is asleep. i will leave you with a few pics for a session with angela. i love them...he is so darn cute!!

happy weekend,

He just went right to him...

Thats right, when it was time for them to take Owen back to get his tubes put in, Owen went right to the anesthesiologist without blinking an eye. How sad! My baby will just go to anyone & have a smile on his face at that. As they were walking down the hall a little tear appeared. All I could think of was why and I sad? Owen has been on antibiotics for nearly 8 months with no relief in sight. He gets an ear infection every month, sometimes twice and month and I have a tear. Are you serious? All I knew was...they better take care of my munchkin or there will be hell to pay. :D However, everything went great we were in and out by 8:00 am. He came home, got sick, slept till 11, got up, nursed, played, took another nap, played some more, ate, and is back asleep. You would never know that he had anything done today. He does have a little drainage, but that is expected. The doctor said there was thick drainage from both ears & we needed to have this done. I am very thankful we are finished...lets just hope getting tubes helps him sleep through the night. Wishful thinking huh?

This pic was taken yesterday while we were at home playing. I wonder why my phone is a piece of crap...look....

So, I have going back to the "old" me...not eating animal product & I have taken a bigger step...eating all organics. I know, a little pricey these days, but all well worth it. I am totally a publix chick, but I have noticed that Krogers has a HUGE selection of organic products & they are their brand. Even cheaper!!! So, once we move I will start back to Krogers b/c there is one about 3 miles from our new house. Owen has been on all organic his whole life (13 months) :) I am plan on staying on that track.

Speaking of the house, we are closing on the 19th of this month. I am pretty happy, but not looking forward to doing the work that needs to be done (painting mainly). I guess there is not real way around that. It has to be done and I am not paying someone to do it for us. Yes, I would like some cheese with my wine!!! :

This pic was also taken yesterday & you can see Owen is saying "Hello"

Owen has taken about a total of 12 steps, but he is well on his way to walking. Here is one of his push toys...he will literally run you over while pushing it. Precious!!!

So, Owens next favorite toy is the laptop. He loves touching the buttons and turning it off an on. Thanks Metro for the computer. :)

As you can see I am really loving being home for the summer and so is Owen.
Giving Owen a bath is a blast! He loves playing with the balls (thanks Barbara) and as you can see we have all these *animals* that can be created on the walls. Well, I like putting the foam eyes on Owens head...he never knows they are there because they are so light. Is this wrong of me for doing this?
So, to wrap my day up with Owen, he decided that he wanted to play with my shades. As the wonderful Mother I am, I let him do what he wants...so, he is pimping my Guess sunglasses.

How could I forget to mention Owen and him holding his breath. Yes, thats right, he did it AGAIN. While we were playing yesterday, we were looking out the door like we often do. When all of a sudden "Dolly" a fluffy white dog runs by & she runs up to the door. What does Owen want to do? Go outside. So, once again, being the wonderful Mother I am we go outside. She licks and loves all over him. When it was time for her to continue on her journey to pooing, we go back in. As you can imagine Owen is NOT happy. Well, I am SORRY, but I have to use the restroom. I sat him on the rug in front of my door (see in pictures above) & run to the restroom. He begins to cry, but while I am peepeeing :) I hear nothing. I knew what was happening. Owen was holding his breath AGAIN. I hurry up & wipe...NO, I didnt wash my hands & run out only to find Owen on his side on the rug. I roll him over on his back & he is blue. I blow in his face & he comes around. Once he takes a breath, what does he do? Points to go back outside. No way Jose!

Oh well, I am off to get a water & some rest.

Thanks for all the prayers!

I feel off...

the blogging trend I was on...SORRY! What's new in my life?

Here is it, Owen is 13 months old, I am home for the summer, and life is grand!
Owen turned a year old last month & he is getting to be such a BIG boy! His party went great and he got a lot of great *stuff* It is not hard to make the little munchkin happy these days. Tomorrow he is getting tubes in his ears & we hope that stops all of the ear infections. Since October, Owen has had 7+ ear infections w/ two sets of double ear infections in May alone. I absolutely hate for him to be on antibiotics & he is in so much pain. Tomorrow is the *DAY* & I will let everyone know how it goes. So, please say a prayer for us.

I am home for the summer & I am glad this school year went fast. The kids were a little rough and I have some hard times, but for the most part it was a good year. My teaching partner is leaving & going back to Ohio...she will truly be missed at MMS. Since she is leaving, I thought there would be no better time than now for me to move up to 7th grade. I am going to teach ALL science classes & I am really excited about that. I think it will be a new chapter in my life. Change is good or at least that's what they say.

Tony and I are purchasing a house. We are scheduled to close on it this month. We are really excited and are glad that Owen will have a place to run around in. We have been in tight quarters here at the condo & now it's time to move up...I will post more about it when we close. We are going to do some minor repairs to it. So, if anyone is willing to help, please call me. :D

Owen has started something new...EATING his crib! Yes, you read that correctly...the wood on his bed has all these little scratches on it. I thought it was from Tonys buckle, but today I walked in and he was nawing the crib. Way to ruin the nice bed we spent so much money on. I guess eating a little wood never hurt anyone.

This past weekend we went to my parents house and it was so nice. Well, it's always nice to go home and see them. Not to mention they love seeing O more than anything. We get there and O doesnt stop until we make him slow down. He just takes everything in, from the pond, boat, motorcycle, birds, cats, dog, windows, and everything else. Totally precious. Here is a pic of O with his PawPaw.

Here is a smile for the road....

Until next time...
