What's this world becoming???!!!!!????

We finally have reached the day that there is a new president. I didn't vote for him however I have to support him...he is our president for the next 4 years possibly 8. YIKES!!! We shall see what all he is going to do...

All is well here at the Lankford house. I guess...T is sick yet again with strep. He has quarantined himself in the bedroom while O & I enjoy the rest of the house. This is the second time in less than a year he has had it. Bummer...

O stayed home for the past week with Nana. He had this nasty cough (still has it) & I am SICK of his daycare! Monday T & I went and looked at TGS and knew it was the place for us. It was SO clean & I just love it. I hope to get the magic call in May letting us know we are in. I will keep you posted about that.

I am really taking 2009 and making this year all about me. I have spent the last 4 years taking care of everyone else but myself. NOT anymore. :D

Oh well, I am going to watch some TV and off to bed.

Wine...my NEW best friend!

Well, it's Friday night, I am all alone, Owen is asleep, and I am drinking some wine. ;( About 4 years ago T & I went to a wine tasting here in Nashville and all the wines there were from TN. I feel in love with their Blackberry wine...

Over the break a couple of really good friends from work came over for a luncheon, wine (4 bottles), chats, & a nice time. I had a bottle left over and I thought it was appropriate to open it tonight. T has gone out with some friends, leaving us all alone. I will be alone tomorrow night too b/c he is going to the Titans game...GO TITANS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Work is dreadful & everyday I wished I was at home raising my child. However, I did get some wonderful news a few weeks ago. I called The Gardner School & it looks like O will have a spot either for the summer or in August. I plan on keeping O home with me all summer, but I am willing to pay for him to have a spot at TGS. His friend @ daycare is also on the list...Blake.

Well, I am going to finish checking my email & then it's off to watch Nancy Grace :D.

PawPaw & Tractors

Owen absolutely LOVES tractors & his PawPaw. So, I decided to spend the last day of my Christmas vacation with my dad. O and I went up there early on Friday and we met PawPaw and their local coffee shop for some YUMMY coffee. We went back to my parents house where we stayed all day. It was beautiful here in Nashville, about 55*. With the weather being so wonderful it was fitting that Dad took Owen out. Here are some pics from PawPaw's.

Hope you all had a wonderful New Year...we stayed in the house, had some friends over, cooked out, and was in bed by 9. :) On another note, please keep my Mother in your prayers. She lost her job yesterday. She was laid off due to the poor economy. She had been there for 12 years.

New year, New ME...

Each year I try to make a mental list of *ALL* the things I would like to achieve. I found it fitting that I would post it on here...

1. finally loose all this weight...grrrrr
2. use the wii fit that I bought & haven't used (O jumps off of it...does that count?)
3. continue my weekly meetings
4. try to be more positive while at work
5. potty train O (he tells me as soon as he has pooped, peepeed & then lays down and says "change") This will take place as soon as I am finished with work.
6. keep a balanced checkbook
7. have a ladies night once a month
8. read to O more books than just his favorite ones
9. continue to capture O weekly
10. use the video camera more
11. learn how to sew
12. take photography classes

I am sure there are more, but I can't think of them. Hope everyone had a wonderful New Years...I stayed home and some friends (Wes & Elise) came over for dinner. They left and we were in bed by 9. We were woken up at 2:12am by the alarm clock. Yesterday I let O play with it and apparently he set it and it scared the crap out of me. Other than that everything was good.

Today I put on a pot of black-eyes peas & feel asleep. T woke me up because something was burning...it was my pot of beans. So, I didn't eat any black-eyed peas...guess I will have bad luck :(

Tomorrow I am going to my parents house....my dads off of work so O & I are going to spend the day with him. We are going to this little coffee shop for some coffee in the morning...I can't wait. I haven't had my Starbucks coffee in two weeks.

Well, I am off to watch TV...
